Thankful be...

The Lowe home was a nice and quiet one this Thanksgiving time. With many family and friends visiting other family and friends, we were able to relax, laugh at Ellesse, and have tons of num, yummy leftovers! We are very thankful for "health and strength and daily food, we praise thy name o Lord." We are ever thankful for a house to protect us and keep us safe, and family that loves us no matter what. I am thankful for adoption and for our dear Elliott. Yams all over the place never looked better. And no one (not even Ellesse) looked as cute doing the 'Turkey Dance'.

I give thanks to you and my Heavenly Father above...

3rd Annual Adoption Walk With Me

This years walk was the best! Great prizes, great help from volunteers (a singles ward service committee!) an awesome balloon arch (made by Dan!) free burritos from Chipotle, and be-au-ti-ful weather! Hooray for adoption. Hope you can come next year!
'Orange' you glad for adoption!?

Lest We Forget...

May we all take a moment today at remember all those who paid for our freedoms...

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Happy Halloweiner!

Yes, we are a little late with posting... Much has been going on in the Lowe home. This year we were none other than the spinach loving popeye, olive oyl and brutus/ bluto... Elliott enjoyed kicking his way through the leaves to a couple houses in our neighbourhood. Looking at lit pumpkins and wanting to go in to the peoples homes...

Good times.

So much to be thankful for...

We celebrated our Canadian roots yesterday with a Thanksgiving feast at Mom's house. Delicious as always. Not all our family could be there, but we sure feel their love. We also took pictures of the three little monkeys in our 'next generation' for Christmas gifts... and nearly wet our pants trying to get them to hold still and not 'WWF' each other on the Luv Sac. You will see those pictures soon... so funny!

We love you all and are ever so thankful for all that God has blessed us with... whether we are thankful for them or not. That is His love for us... never ending, unconditional, immense.

Celebrating 60 years together!

My whole family met up down in Cedar City, Ut. to see Ellesse in SUU's play Lysistrata where she played the part of Kalonike. We also were all together to celebrate our Grandpa and Grandpa Hargreaves' 60th Wedding Anniversary on October 10. It was great to be all together, to laugh and reminisce. Ellesse's play really cracked us up as was watching the 'next generation' and their antics.

Let's hope we can all be together again soon! Hey! Ellesse's SUU grad. is in April! Who's up for it!

Utah Vacation!

We have been trying to save our pennies and trying to use up Dan's yearly time off (he has to use it or he loses it!) So we have been creative and visiting sites in Utah that we haven't yet seen! The latest was a trip to Bryce Canyon and then following it up through Grand Staircase/ Escalante, Torrey, Manti, Moroni and then home. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TRIP! Such great scenery and the best time in the year to do it. The leaves were gorgeous and changing color. Not too many tourists either! Here are some pics!

Fun in Canada!

Well another Canada Day celebration and family and friends galore... not to mention great food from Grand ma Lil... ah, the pancakes and Hutterite eggs! We had a nice water fight provided by Becca and Ellesse and I think Dan said 'A slurpee a day, keeps the doctor away!' And that is exactly what we did! We went on a trip to 'Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump' near Ft. McCleod and enjoyed some dancing from the Blackfoot Confederacy in Canada. A nice visit to Grand pa Holly's grave made the visit even more memorable. How we love our family and our heritage.

Arizona heat...

We headed down on a 12 hr. drive to Queen Creek, AZ. to visit brother and sister in law Jeff and Tara Smith... and little Colten and Coby. We drove down via Las Vegas and over the Hoover Dam and then south east to Phoenix. We soaked in the sun, the pool, the ever delicious and plentiful food, and the family love. On the drive back (another 12 hrs...) we went north via Flagstaff, and Page Arizona and over the Glen Canyon Dam (Lake Powell) and north to SLC. Road trips are great. But 12 hrs. is a long time for Mr. Elliott.

Sunny Day in SLC

The weather has been a bit quirky lately. I guess that is why they call it Spring. One day it has been storming and windy then snow, then the next day 70'... Well we were downtown at the Joseph Smith Memorial building and thought we'd go up to the 10th floor and look out at the view. It is so beautiful up there soaking in all the sun...

Bite for Mommy?

Elliott has just learned that us big people like to eat too and so will stick his food in our mouths. (Not that I always want to eat it though...)

Easter...

Well just imagine 'Santa Revisited' when envisioning Elliott with the Easter Bunny (who was actually our friend Travis from around the corner) We don't normally do these 'mascot' photo shoots, but heck, it's for Travis. I don't like punishing the kids for no reason. Then for the egg hunt, Elliot was pleased just to find one egg. That was all he wanted.

Room for Improvement...

It is a good thing that we can always improve in this life. My blog sucks! I've been looking at other blogs and ugh, mine stinks... but I do have some sweet music on it... I will search a bit more and see what I can do better to improve it. Maybe more pics and posts will help...

Well, today is a get things done around the house day. Clean, sort, chuck... It is nap time now...so I better use my time wisely.

(if you can't tell I like using the 'three dots'...like a rest, or sigh, or another thought...)

Smell ya later!

Show me the lovin'!

For Valentines Day we went and did some Cupid visits to our love ones. I thought this shirt fit Elliott to a 't'. "Single and lovin' it"

Ta Da!

Well, we will see how long this lasts... Here I am to the world of 'blogging'

How about seeing some pictures of Elliott and his buddy Brighton Burrup... can we say 'Clothesline'/WWF? Maybe we need a mat and some stretchy pants...
